Montara Hospitality is pleased to announce that “PRU”, the signature dining venue retained its MICHELIN Star status for the second consecutive year, along with “Seafood at Trisara” which also retained its esteemed MICHELIN Plate designation. “PRU” was the first restaurant in Phuket to receive a MICHELIN Star and remains the only restaurant outside Bangkok to hold the prestigious accolade for its ‘Plant, Raise, Understand’ philosophy.
The awards were announced November 12th at the ‘MICHELIN Guide Thailand Star Revelation 2020’ Gala Awards Presentation at Bangkok Marriott Hotel-The Surawongse.

PRU’s culinary team continues to position themselves at the forefront of culinary innovation in Phuket with the recent launch of a one-of-a-kind ecosystem-based menu, aimed to tell the story of Thailand’s rich biodiversity. The unique, five and seven-course tasting menus take guests on a flavorful tour of Southern Thailand featuring locally sourced dishes inspired from organic ingredients found in the same ecosystems. The menus change every few months but the process of getting a dish right can take up to six months.
The inspiration behind all of PRU’s tasting menus stem from Chef Jimmy and his team’s dedication to sourcing ingredients locally from Pru Jampa, Trisara’s working farm, as well as from local purveyor communities of fishermen and farmers.
Additionally, the culinary team will further develop the restaurants farm ‘Pru Jampa’, which currently grows 50 different species of plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables.
In addition to PRU, Seafood at Trisara, which serves authentic southern Thai dishes based on treasured family heirloom recipes, also kept its MICHELIN Plate designation.
