Thomson and First Choice are today announcing increased capacity at Newcastle airport for their summer 2017 flying programme. This includes an additional fortnightly flight to Florida which gives greater holiday flexibility to holidaymakers flying from the north of England.
The move to introduce new routes is part of the holiday company’s strategy to ensure customers across the UK can fly from their local airport and stay at the best hotels in some of the most exciting destinations. The new routes will go on sale today in line with the launch of summer 2017 holidays.
Customers travelling on the additional route to Florida will now have access to some of Thomson and First Choice’s most popular flagship hotels, including the 4T Disney Caribbean Beach Resort and 4T Wyndham Orlando Resort.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is made up of colonial-style buildings, towering palm trees and seven swimming pools. Guests can choose to eat at one of the five American-Caribbean kiosks at the food court or enjoy a sit down meal at the à la carte restaurant.
Those visiting the Wyndham Orlando Resort can expect lush gardens filled with palm trees and flowers, art deco interiors and a prime location, located just moments away from all the big theme parks.
Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for Thomson and First Choice, said: “Adding more capacity from Newcastle with the introduction of an additional fortnightly flight to Florida demonstrates our commitment to Newcastle Airport and the local area.
“Expanding access to our portfolio of destinations and hotels is a key part of our overall strategy and will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”
John Irving, Business Development Director at Newcastle International Airport, said: “We welcome the addition of this extra fortnightly flight from Newcastle making it even easier and convenient to fly around 11,000 holiday-makers from Newcastle to Florida next summer.
“This additional flight follows on the heels of this summer’s extra Cancun flight which will see a similar number of holiday-makers jet away from Newcastle to the Caribbean with Thomson and First Choice.
“Given this strong demand, we hope to see more flights to more destinations in the Caribbean over the next few years.”
