His career graph reflects him spending his entire career working in senior financial positions for hospitality brands across the world including Mandarin in Oriental, Inter Continental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the Jumeirah Group, as well as Disneyland Paris.
He lastly worked with Aman Resorts where he served as the chief financial officer since 2014. Here, he was responsible for the finance function of the firm’s entire portfolio of 31 properties across 19 countries.
Checoury will be reporting to the company’s president and chief executive officer Oliver Chavy appreciated that his expertise will provide valuable insights to the finance and executive teams.
Michael has a wide range of advanced technical and commercial experience from some of the world’s biggest hospitality brands.
With Movenpick’s continuous effort of expanding its portfolio across Europe, Africa, Asia and Middle East, the company was looking forward to have him on board.
Checoury’s role will involve aligning strategic planning processes, the ongoing implementation of Mövenpick’s successful business model and
supporting all finance-related decisions.
The French national is married and has two children.
He will be working from Dubai, he had earlier worked for the Jumeriah group as resort director of finance until 2008.
