Today, Nov. 1st, the Division of Tourism, Culture and Transportation, and the board of the Tobago Tourism Agency declared the selection of Mr. Louis Lewis as the first Chief Executive Officer of the organization.
Most recently, Mr. Lewis was associated with the Saint Lucia Tourist Board from February 2008 to January of this year, in the capacity of Director of Tourism, as well as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Lewis, from the year 2003 to 2006 acted as Saint Lucia’s Director of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs. He was accountable for the execution of the budget policy program.
After this post, he was appointed as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Investment and Consumer Affairs, before getting selected as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
Back in the 1990’s, Mr. Lewis occupied prominent positions in numerous significant Saint Lucia government agencies, like serving as the Head of the Research Department at the Saint Lucia Tourist Board, as an Economist with the Ministry of Finance. Also, he was associated as an Economic Statistician with the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank at its headquarters in Saint Kitts.
The multifaceted background of Mr. Lewis spans across the fields of Tourism Research and Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Consumer Research, Marketing, and Project Management. His knowledge has prepared him with supreme insights in terms of strategic development planning, and places him in a unique professional position.
