Andrews explained while giving an interview with media this week that he and his fellow colleagues will not be keeping any stones unturned of travelling throughout the United States to further endorse tourism to the chain of Islands.
He further added that he will soon depart the country for a week in order to explore New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He will be talking to a number of travel agents during that time.
To quote him, ‘at least 80 percent of our visitors come from that area, so it is always good to go and reinforce that relationship that we have in these areas with our partners. Of course, we already have a good relationship with them, but touching base every now and again, letting them know that we appreciate their business, not only from a hotel stand point, but from a brand stand point.’
Andrews also expressed that the TCI Tourist Board has collaborated with clothing brand Polo in the meantime and they will be jointly hosting on an event in the Hamptons [Long Island]. It would be an effort to attract high end clients to the TCI.
Andrews has been appointed the new Director of the TCI Tourist Board, succeeding Ralph Higgs who put down his paper this past summer to follow a career in politics.
This announcement was made during a Cabinet meeting last November. He will serve for two years as the TCI Tourist Board Director.
