The Marianas Tourism Education Council Tourism Summit for CNMI Public School System’s MY WAVE (Marianas Youth Welcome All Visitors Enthusiastically) Club students would be featuring a complete line-up of on-and-off-island speakers on 25th January, 2018 at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.
They would be speaking on the theme ‘Live Your Culture, Love All Cultures’.
This year’s keynote speaker would be Andrew Jones who is the guardian of Sanctuary Resorts and the immediate past chairman of Pacific Asia Travel Association.
Mr. Jones had grown up in the hotel business as his parents used to manage country inns and restaurants in the United Kingdom.
Over the last 45 years he has been working in several senior management and corporate positions for different hotels, management companies and resorts in Hong Kong, Canada, Bermuda, London and all across Asia.
In the year 1996 Jones had founded and became the guardian of Sanctuary Resorts that is a resort management company that creates sustainable tourism experiences where people rejuvenate their body, mind and spirit in an eco-friendly space.
Furthermore Jones is also an active member of the board of trustees for the PATA Foundation, advisor on CSR and Responsible and Sustainable Tourism for PATA as well as a member of the World Travel Market World Responsible Tourism Day Advisory Panel.
The students would also be hearing from Gerard van Gils, 2017 CNMI Teacher of the Year and the 2017 Pacific Educator of the Year.
Additional speakers would also include co-owner and managing director Gordon Marciano of tour company Pacific Development, Inc.
The summit is expected to accumulate nearly 300 MY WAVE Club members to learn a lot more about tourism. There would be a special emphasis on the unique aspects of the Marianas for the scope of cultural or heritage tourism.
