Myanmar, Cambodia come together to promote tourism cooperation

Myanmar, CambodiaThe South East Asian countries , Myanmar and Cambodia, have joined hands to promote cooperation in education and tourism sectors, Myanmar News Agency reported Wednesday.


Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw met with visiting Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar Tuesday where the two made the pledge to aggrandize tourism activities between the two nations. They discussed promotion of bilateral relations, investment and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.


Hor Namhong’s discussions with Vice President U Myint Swe also covered promotion of cooperation in establishing cultural zones in Bagan and Mandalay as well as Angkor Wat cultural zone in Cambodia.


During the Cambodian deputy prime minister’s visit in Myanmar, the two countries signed an agreement on education cooperation for 2017-2021 to enhance the development of the sector.


In a meeting with State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, Hor Namhong also exchanged views with her on cooperation in transportation sector, cultural and political improvement.
