MyJoys May Winners Watch Designs in Action as FJ Ambassador An Cruises to Wentworth Victory

IAGTOA record crowd witnessed FootJoy Brand Ambassadors take to Wentworth’s West Course for the 2015 BMW PGA Championship sporting shoes designed through the brand’s exciting MyJoys May competition.

 

Joining forces with some of the UK’s most popular golf websites, including Golf-Monthly.co.uk and HowDidiDo.com, FJ, the #1 Shoe and Glove in golf, offered seven fans the chance to design shoes for some of its most notable loyalists to wear on Thursday of the tournament via the popular MyJoys customisation platform.

 

After collecting almost 3,000 entries from golfers keen to see their creations come to life, each participating FJ player was invited to choose their favourite to wear during the opening 18 holes of their bid for the European Tour’s flagship title.

 

Additional to earning the pride of having their shoes worn in competition at one of golf’s oldest and most prestigious events, the MyJoys May winners also received their winning design for their own use, as well as being gifted tickets for the tournament.

 

Participating in MyJoys May this year were former world #1, Luke Donald, and 1999 Open Champion, Paul Lawrie, who had the pleasure of selecting from an array of creative entries, featuring the latest updated styles and leathers currently available through MyJoys.
Also tasked with choosing their favourites were Aussie, Brett Rumford; statuesque Swede, Robert Karlsson; four-time European Tour winner, Gregory Bourdy; Austrian rising star, Bernd Wiesberger; and recent Joburg Open winner, Andy Sullivan.

 

“MyJoys May is all about showcasing the sheer range of styles, leathers, prints, colours and additional detailing that are made possible through the MyJoys programme, not to mention the vast number of width and size options available,” said FJ Marketing Executive, Paul O’Hagan.

 

“Our brand ambassadors are often noticed wearing shoes they have designed through MyJoys, and we are always blown away by the interest shown when we give the UK golfing public the chance to do the same on their behalf during MyJoys May.
“We were delighted to present our winners with replicas of the shoes they had designed for our Brand Ambassadors and hope they each thoroughly enjoyed following their creations around the course on Thursday of the tournament.

 

“We would also like to thank each participating website and everyone who entered for their support for MyJoys May in 2015, and we hope to see even more golfers contribute designs next year.”

 

As it transpired, Byeong-Hun An saw off the challenge of his fellow FJ Brand Ambassadors with a tremendous final round 65 to set a tournament record of 21-under-par, six shots clear of his nearest competitor.
The South Korean, who earned the biggest payday of his career with a first prize of €833,330, trusted the comfort and spikeless performance of FJ’s DryJoys Casual on his way to victory and now finds himself 54th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
