Today the National Restaurant Association issued the following statement regarding the Industrial Board of Appeals (IBA) decision to uphold a $15 minimum wage increase solely for fast food workers as mandated by Governor Cuomo’s self-appointed wage board. The National Restaurant Association brought forth an administrative appeal before the IBA which was rejected today.
“We are extremely disappointed by the Industrial Board of Appeals decision to uphold the action of Governor Cuomo’s wage board which targets the hardworking men and women who own and operate New York’s restaurants. The board’s decision today says loud and clear New York is NOT open for business. We are committed to helping the restaurant community continue to grow and create jobs across the state and plan to take legal action against this arbitrary mandate which is contrary to law.”
