National Theatre Wales will stage its first Christmas show at Cardiff Castle this December; Silly Kings is a musical production adapted from the Fairy Tales of Terry Jones (of Monty Python fame).
The show will open on 19th December, running until 4th January, and is billed as a story featuring a princess, four crazy knights, an angry fairy, a dragon (of sorts) and a very silly king.
Directed by Jo Davies and adapted by Katherine Chandler, the interactive show will be packed with Pythonesque coconut shells, slapstick humour and live music from Groove Armada’s Patrick Dawes. The cast, which features musicians and circus performers as well as actors, will include Remy Beasley, Stephen Casey, Kier Charles, George Fuller, Maxwell James, Hannah McPake, Sion Pritchard and Matthew Woodyatt.
Group travel organisers will find free entry for themselves and discounts available for parties of ten or more people.
