Almost 50 guests have had to be evacuated from inside a hotel in Deeside, Flintshire after emergency services dealt with a serious fire that engulfed the building.
Several ambulances, firefighters and police were at the Gateway to Wales Hotel that is located in Welsh Road that shares its border with England.
The alarm was raised at about 1.27 GMT and police mentioned that the fire and billowing smoke were causing a good amount of disruption on the nearby roads. Nobody has been hurt on account of the fire. Welsh Road is closed in this area and the A494 has been shut down to lorries.
Traffic Wales mentioned that the A494 eastbound road at Queensferry was also closed down owing to the smoke billowing across the road.
It said that the roads in the surrounding area have been heavily impacted by smoke and are likely to close on account of safety.
A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service mentioned that they had resources at the scene with four ambulances, two duty officers, two rapid response vehicles and a hazardous area response team from the North West Ambulance Service.
