Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism (NMBT) recently bagged the gold award for service quality at the 2018 Chinese Tourism Welcome Awards (CTW) for its dedicated efforts in establishing itself as a premium destination in South Africa for Chinese visitors.
Held in Shanghai, the highly prestigious CTW Awards are recognized as the leading awards programme in its field.
The awards are aimed at felicitating tourism service providers, destination management organizations, national tourism organisations, retailers, marketing and communication companies for their services to the Chinese outbound tourism market.
The CTW Awards winners were selected and judged by a panel of both Chinese and non-Chinese industry experts, who assessed entries from 30 countries globally in Asia, Europe, North America, the Caribbean and Africa.
The NMBT team takes this a noteworthy achievement, since it’s a tough competition from around the globe for receiving the gold award. NMBT earned the award, having made great strides to establish the Nelson Mandela Bay as a premium destination in South Africa for Chinese tourists.
Speaking on behalf of the team, NMBT chief executive officer Mandlakazi Skefile said that it is indeed a great honour for NMBT to receive this prestigious award and to be recognized for the efforts and contribution to the industry.
