The Embassy of Nepal in Sri Lanka had organized a tourism promotion program ‘Nepal Night’ in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Travel and Tour Agents and Nepal Airlines Corporation on 15th December, 2017 at Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka.
Several outbound tour operators, diplomatic members of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Sri Lanka, Chairperson of SAARC Women Entrepreneurs’ Council, Sri Lanka-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industries and some leading media houses were present at the program, as stated by the Embassy of Nepal in Colombo in a press release.
The program was divided into Formal Opening, B2B Session and Reception.
Bishwambher Pyakuryal, Nepal’s ambassador to Sri Lanka had delivered the welcome address on this special occasion.
He feels that the tourism industry plays a crucial role in boosting the economy of the nation mainly through its tourism industry. He also thinks that both the countries can leverage the well-established linkages between the tourism sectors of both nations.
Twelve travel companies from Nepal had demonstrated their products and had presided over business meetings with different tour operators in Sri Lanka.
All the invitees were presented with gifts that included destination information, handicraft products and information about Nepal.
