The Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF), the leading international tourism platform for promoting sustainable development of the global tourism industry with a focus on China, hosted a networking dinner in Xingyi City in the 2017 Partner Province, Guizhou. It introduced its 6th edition with the theme “Regional Collaboration Towards a Better Future,” which will be held on 16 and 17 October 2017 in Macao.
At the networking dinner, GTEF marked the inaugural edition of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), a State Council-approved international tourism organization, and had attendees from various prefecture and city-level tourism development leaders from Guizhou Province, the Chinese mountain tourism industry, domestic travel and tourism enterprises, investment institutions, airlines, travel-related websites, key tourism hotspots in Guizhou, local tourism operators in Guizhou Province & Qianxinan region, as well as domestic travel media online publications.
Guizhou Province will renew its collaboration with GTEF again in 2017 to further increase its international exposure. As the host of the IMTA, the first international organization to focus solely on mountain tourism and headquartered outside of Beijing, Guizhou will benefit from GTEF’s world-class business matching platform, global network and Macao’s unique positioning as a tourism gateway. The August 15th dinner was attended by prominent guests. In support of the 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, GTEF 2017 will engage prominent leaders in the public and private sectors in a forward-thinking dialogue on regional collaboration and sustainable tourism development.
