New Coca Restaurant Set To Open In Yangon With Fresh Vegetable Market Concept And Housemade Noodles

Published on : Wednesday, November 30, 2016

unnamed-28Thailand’s long-established and popular international restaurant chain COCA has announced that it will launch a new outlet in Yangon in time for Chinese New Year.

One of three new outlets that will be open and attracting Asian food lovers in countries across Southeast Asia by early 2017, COCA Yangon will be located inside the Yangon International Hotel with its own separate entrance and parking area.

COCA’s famous wok dishes and a la carte Thai appetizers have made the restaurant famous since the first outlet opened in central Bangkok 59 years ago, and many of these original delicacies will continue to play a major part on the menu. To keep pace with culinary trends, the latest COCA outlet will introduce a new ‘fresh market’ concept, as well as a unique choice of freshly made noodles prepared in-house and a wide selection of the brand’s deservedly famous house-made dumplings.

“Fresh, locally sourced fresh vegetables will be a key feature and on display in the restaurant for diners to select and have prepared al la minute with the quality imported meats and carefully selected seafood dishes on the menu. The addition of a dedicated fresh noodle room is actually a first for COCA. It’s a new, exciting concept that we are happy to shout about as we start the Year of the Rooster,” said Trevor MacKenzie, Managing Director of COCA and Mango Tree Restaurants Worldwide.

Over the last 59 years, COCA Restaurants has built an impressive reputation for top quality family dining experiences by serving food that’s made for sharing, with friendly but efficient service and fresh, healthy menu choices that appeal to multiple generations of diners.

Thai celebrity chef Pitaya Phanphensophon – the son of COCA’s founder –  continues to be the force behind the brand’s expansion around the world. His philosophy to never offer anything on the menu that he would not feed to his own children is one that underpins the restaurants’ evolution and enduring success.
Despite its long history and widespread reputation for quality hot-pot and suki dishes, COCA has never shied away from innovation while staying true to our core quality values. Creative choices like the Ying Yang – a soup that blends traditional Chinese broth with spicy tom yam from Thailand – have proved very popular, but we also deliver far more than just food. COCA offers an experience that people remember, a rare combination that they always want to enjoy more than once.”
