WTM London 2017, the leading global event for the travel industry, will be a hotspot for debate informed by new research into a variety of sectors when it takes place between Monday November 6 and Wednesday November 8.
The latest trends in the travel and tourism industry will be unveiled on Monday November 6 in the WTM 2017 Industry Report, presented by the BBC’s Aaron Heslehurst at 10:30 at the International Media Centre (ME580). The annual report polls both members of the global industry and 1,000 UK holidaymakers to create an important snapshot of travel habits and intentions.
NEW: Find out which cities are expected to be travel stars for 2017, 2020 and 2025 when respected research organisation Euromonitor International reveals the WTM London Top 100 City Destinations Ranking Report, incorporating Global Travel Trends. The presentation will take place on Tuesday November 7 from 10:30 in the International Media Centre (ME580). It will be repeated at 14.55 the same day in the WTM Inspire Theatre – (EU490).
NEW: Marketing with a sustainable message will be the theme of The Travel Media Market – Global Advertising Trends and how to focus on Responsible Tourism, which starts at 11:30am on Tuesday November 7 in the WTM Inspire Theatre (EU490). The session will look at the marketing messages that the largest travelling and travelled-to countries are sharing. It will also consider, with data from Neilson, how adaptations to include responsible tourism could boost performance.
NEW: Also on Tuesday, WTM partner TTG Media will host the debate UK Inbound: Five years of long-haul arrivals. This will look at the effects of the 2012 Olympics, Brexit, terror attacks and more using flight booking analysis from ForwardKeys, which studies more than 17 million transactions a day. It will take place at 12:30 in Platinum Suite 4.
A busy day of discussion continues with LGBT Travel – Inside and Out: The ONBC Masterclass, presented by Out Now Business Class at 13.30 in South Gallery Rooms 7 & 8. It will be a forum to consider the importance of the market – now valued at USD$200billion – and gather product, branding and staff inclusion advice. The travel industry data scores in theHow.LGBT industry index will be revealed for the first time along with the latest LGBT2030 global consumer trends.
NEW: Adventure travellers are the group under consideration at 16.15 when AdventureConnect: World Travel Market London in South Gallery Rooms 7 & 8 covers tourism news and trends in the sector in partnership with Toscana Promozione Turistica.
NEW: On Wednesday November 8, age is the theme in the session Generation Jet Set: Exploring Why Affluent Millennials Travel, and how travel brands can connect with them. Held at 12.45 in the WTM Inspire Theatre (EU490) it will use an award-winning study by BBC World News as the basis for discussion on this much talked-about demographic.
