To mark the grand opening of Kastawey, the newest beach bar at Four Seasons Resort Nevis, Director of Food and Beverage Max Loayza combined the perfect blend of light, dark, gold and coconut rum with fresh pineapple and tamarind juice to create a deliciously sweet and oh-so-refreshing rum punch called the Kastawey Smash.
“The Kastawey Smash has become a very popular drink due to its unique flavours and magical powers to help put everyone in a relaxing Caribbean mood,” sayes Max. This signature drink is now available at Kastawey Beach Bar, and Max is making it easy for everyone to recreate this refreshing rum punch at home.
Kastawey Smash at Four Seasons Resort Nevis
½ ounce of light rum
½ ounce of dark rum
½ ounce of gold rum
½ ounces of coconut rum
4 ounces of pineapple juice
2 ounces of tamarind concentrated juice
Simply choose a favourite light, dark, gold and coconut rum – Max recommends using Bacardi for the gold and Cruzan for the light, dark and coconut rums. Then, add fresh pineapple and tamarind juice for a sweet and tart flavour. Mix all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and serve with a wedge of lime or pineapple.
