The hospitality and tourism management department of Assumption University has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding or MOU with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau or TCEB. TCEB is a public organization that aims at developing and supporting the MICE industry of Thailand.
In other words, it goes a long way in ensuring that Thailand develops into a premier MICE destination for international and Asian business travelers.
Khun Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, president, TCEB said that this agreement with Assumption University would assist the development of MICE curriculum, arrange for courses, offer textbooks and also create opportunities for students and lectures thereby helping all of them exchange information. It also enables leaders to turn into MICE professionals and prepare for the implementation of AEC or ASEAN Economic Community.
Nopparat said that Thailand would continue to gain more strength and momentum over the following years.
He said that the signing of the new MOU would prove to be a major milestone in improving the relationship between Assumption University and TCEB. He said that the future would be confident enough for Thailand only if the people of the country work in unison and he even feels that the nation is smart enough to develop the best MICE industry professionals.
Scott Michael Smith who is the coordinator of Assumption University’s event management course said that the private partnership set forth by the MOU is the first of its kind for this department.
