“Once upon a time, a little girl wrote a letter to Santa Claus wishing that she could have a magical Christmas and asked for a pink panda puppet as a present. Santa Claus sent a group of elves out to Hong Kong and transformed each district with festive decorations, working together to make the girl’s dream comes true….”
The extract above was not taken out of a fairy tale, but rather is a part of the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s (HKTB) Hong Kong Pulse 3D Light Show. The new phase, totaling 4 shows, kicks off tonight (9 December) in Tsim Sha Tsui and lasts until the 28 December. In order to tie-in with HKTB’s Hong Kong Winterfest promotion, the light show will take on a special fairytale theme.
The Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Clock Tower will be transformed into a wintery storybook. Locals and visitors alike will be whisked into a magical Christmas story through the projection of 3D images, lights and special audio effects.
The audience will be able to witness the Christmas elves transporting the festive ornaments to Hong Kong, going back and forth through the streets to furbish buildings with sparkling and colorful Christmas decorations, and carrying Christmas trees to shopping malls for lighting ceremony; of course, not forgetting to bring the little girl the gift of a magical and warm Christmas.
