STO_Eng_VerticalNew PLUS SEOUL program has been introduced by the Seoul Convention Bureau (SCB) to promote the MICE industry in Seoul and provide extra support programs in response to COVID-19.

Operative response plans have been put together by the Seoul Metropolitan government and the citizens can take advantage of the new program. The 2020 version has response and recovery plans in regards to the global outbreak of COVID-19 and boost business event experience with lasting memories and bonds.

The 2020 PLUS SEOUL program is focused on Seoul Convention Bureau values of implementing services for the MICE industry in Seoul, sustainable development for the people and the community involved.

The minimum number was lowered from 500 to 200 for all international conferences to support the MICE events. Those conferences which are postponed  but hosted within the year 2020 will be offered 10% more of the pre-approved support.

For corporate meetings and incentive tours the minimum number was lowered from 50 to 20. Also one extra benefit is to be added along with the benefits selected by the company.

The customized programs to boost belongingness to their companies is one of the biggest strengths of the PLUS SEOUL program which received the most satisfaction.

For corporate meetings and incentive tours these are still core part of the PLUS SEOUL program along with the newly introduced options such as Seoul Customized Welcome Drinks, On-Spot Photo-booth, Food Trucks, AI Robot Rental and Event App Development services.

To promote paperless conferences, PLUS SEOUL proposes the digital means to replace it such as customized apps during the event. Further extending the sustainability, donation is made to the local organization under the name of the event or host organization as a token of expressing appreciation for choosing to be eco-friendly.

To reflect the needs and trends, 1-day tour programs or meal cards is introduced for the MICE participants along with AI Robot Rental, Airport Concierge Desk, and Open Session for the Public.

SCB aims at bringing more MICE events with revamped program in response to COVID-19 and help the meetings industry to recover soon.

An immediate response center in early February was set called the Seoul MICE Support Center and gathered examples of situations, matters and concerns occurred due to COVID-19 outbreak from both private sector SMEs and stakeholder association.
