Queensland is the only place where one can dive with turtles, walk through underground lava tubes and witness kangaroos at the dawn. The state government is all geared up in launching their multi-million dollar tourism campaign showcasing the best attractions of this place along with the locals.
Kate Jones, the tourism minister considers that this new approach towards tourism will provide an authentic experience to the new generation travelers. Ms Jones said, “This approach plays to our strengths, focusing on our natural assets and unforgettable experiences, as told by Queenslanders themselves.”
Last year the place witnessed more than 22.5 million tourists spending over 20 billion dollars. But the tourism minister is more optimistic about tourism growth. She said, “Tourism already supports 220,000 jobs in Queensland and an extra 20,000 jobs will be needed by 2020.” The minister also considers that apart from the famous Great Barrier Reef, there are other opportunities to explore in Queensland as well.
