KENYAAfter  implementing the new marketing plan Kenya plans to double its income from tourism in the medium term. According to an official  potentially returning tourism is a top foreign exchange earner.

Najib Balala, Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife stated that the new plan will be e implemented starting March and will involve mobilizing more money for marketing of tourism products across the world as well as maintaining the growth of domestic tourism.

He further added that the new marketing plan will be like no other and will  embrace disruptions like information technology, the Uber and innovation to meet the needs of the millennials.
Digital marketing is a priority for them and 72 percent of the visitors last year first went to check for their preferred destination on the internet.

The selling points being beaches and the wildlife and these products should be enhanced.

Maasai Mara is a premium magnet for Kenya safari tourism and the government was working with local officials to ensure no further development of structures takes place in the park which might affect the ecosystem.

Some structures were demolished with the County government of Narok which had been built in the Mara.
