Selina group has recently debuted in Birmingham. Situated in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, the 39-room hotel has a wellness area and a coffee shop. A cocktail bar cum Latin-American restaurant is also going to be added in the property soon. The hotel also offers a cinema room and a city garden.
The lobby area of the hotel features local art workshops and pop-ups for guests to socialize and to work. The hotel also has a communal kitchen and a dedicated library space in addition to an activity centre, complete with a panoramic balcony overlooking the city skyline, where people can enjoy events throughout.
Founded in Latin America in 2015, the Group has altogether 50 properties across Latin America and Europe which are known for blending accommodation with co-working, recreation, wellness and local experiences.
The cocktail bar cum Latin-American Restaurant, La Mariposa, is set to be opened in the October end at this property. This hotel happens to be the second UK location for the Latin-American start-up, following the launch of Manchester Selina Hotel in the summer.
Selina’s head of Country UK, Erwin de Jong Oliveira, said that the group was thrilled to bring the concept of wellness hotel to the most exciting cities in the UK.
Interior designer Lorna Keller has worked hard on the project. She sourced artwork and materials from local community people.
One can stay in micro-sized double rooms and community shared rooms in the hotel. The rooms can accommodate three to fourteen guests. The pocket pinch will vary from €15 to €100 per person per night depending on the room category chosen.
Visitors can look forward to dishes like Feijoada- Brazilian smoky bean soup with spicy chorizo and butter beans cooked with goat cheese served with pan-fried cod and Secreto Iberico.
Guests can enjoy cocktails amidst lush foliage and twinkling lanterns, surrounded by local artwork, in the romantic city garden area of the hotel.
