One of the most fascinating curiosities for the travellers lies in the New York City subway system and there’s no doubt how exciting it would be those who love to explore the old world treasures. Miles of underground track shrouded in darkness, littered with abandoned stations and secret passageways – it’s a common object of desire for the urban explorers amongst the millennials.
New York City, occassionally acknowledges the delightful mystery surrounding its 24-hour transportation system. The annual “Holiday Nostalgia” train line is a perfect example of such a delightful nostalgia.
The train line, consisting of eight vintage New York subway cars from several different eras, runs for a few weekends each year – from the Sunday after Thanksgiving to the end of the year, only on Sundays. A look into this train is a maverick mash-up of antique train cars with the modern life.
Starting on November 26 and ending on December 24, this Holiday Nostalgia train line will run every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each ride will cost $2.75, the same as that all subway rides cost. Interestingly, the trains in the subways hardly stand for a minute or two but this one stops for a couple of minutes to pose for photo.
The travellers better hurry up as these subway rides would run only for a limited period of time.
