This is the biggest summer season said Tourism Industry Association chief executive Chris Roberts. The top places where visitors are thronging are Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown which are booked to 90 per cent.
Tourists from all over the world mostly China and the United States are coming to New Zealand which is increasing the country’s tourism. So now if you are planning to come in April it is advisable to make your bookings ahead.
Tourism infrastructure is much improved in New Zealand. But with the tourist numbers continuing to grow the Tourism board will need to focus on building more hotels. Not just hotels but to hold on to the trend the tourism board needs to be more focused on building better transport networks, more activities to engage tourism interest. Also more attention needs to be given on the sewerage system and other smaller utilities that matter in the tourism industry. The services need to be upgraded.
