The new double-decker buses operated by InterCity in New Zealand, is offering business class seats on the upper deck for the elite travellers. From Thursday, 26th January, the new ‘GOLD’ buses will run between Wellington and Auckland on a daily basis, which will also stop at Tokoroa, Bulls, Taupo, Cambridge, Hamilton and Palmerston North.
The bus will be able to carry 65 travellers at a time. Among the 65 seats, there will be 18 premium seats for the business class travellers. The InterCity GOLD is using the Scania K440 model, where there are soft leather recliners in the upper deck along with individual power outlets and charging ports for the travellers to use.
The InterCity group general manager coachlines and Auckland Tourism, Sam Peate has informed that InterCity GOLD offers the highest level of comfort in long distance bus travel and with personal charging facilities and their free mobile WiFi, customers can stay connected throughout the journey.
Travellers can also opt for the standard seats on both the levels of the bus. It has been known that the fares are starting from $1 along with a booking fee for a standard seat and for a premium seat; the travellers need to spend $15 more.
InterCity has announced that the GOLD buses will run on both the South and North Islands routes and the new buses will offer more GOLD seats than the previous models of buses.
