But then, the icebergs of this region have tourism operators and local businesses flourish to a considerable extent, since they have started attracting a large number of globetrotters.
Andrew Shea who is the Mayor of Fogo Island said that the currently this island id being visited by an ‘unbelievable number of tourists’ thanks to the sea ice that is truly a large chunk of the tourist draw and interest levels.
He mentioned that since the last month, people have been capable of catching sight of as many as 100 icebergs from any vantage point on Fogo Island.
Shea has added that a second ferry is expected to sail in the new few days to assist with the rising demand after damage from sea ice had knocked yet another ferry out of service.
She has also noted that the ice has actually prevented many ferries from operating at full service.
Despite this fact, the icebergs have not checked the enthusiasm of the tourists who continue pouring to this region to enjoy a view of them.
