As a part of this partnership, the former program was offered a rebrand under the title Niagara Falls Business Events.
Now, the official website of this program has also been launched officially.
The executive director of Niagara Falls Tourism, Jon Jackson said that looking at the grand success the Convention Centre has already enjoyed in its US and Canadian markets, Niagara was inspired to partner with them for this particular program.
He added that the team who created the MC&IT program for Niagara Falls Tourism actually had quite a strong foundation.
Thanks to their new partnership with the Scotiabank Convention Centre, they would be capable of continuing to grow the presence of Niagara Falls in this segment, offering stronger results for the tourism industry and also the city as a whole.
Noel Buckley, the general manager and president, Scotiabank Convention Centre suggested that the idea behind this partnership commences with the fact that Niagara Falls is an influential leisure destination since a large number of people throng here every year.
He confessed that they were very eager to leverage the fame of Niagara and this would enable them to consolidate their resources and strengthen the reputation of Niagara and this would be possible through the business events program freshly launched.
For Niagara Falls Tourism, it is proposed that they take the lead on to MC&IT program as they are quite confident in the Convention Centre team.
Their goal is to raise the number of business events in the city of Niagara such that indirectly a greater number of people fill their hotel rooms thereby visiting Niagara’s world-class attractions and ultimately leading to increased number of jobs in the tourism industry, according to Jackson.
Buckley said that this approach is more effective for encouraging more number of tourists to head to Niagara Falls.
