Part of The Niagara Parks Commission which was established in 1885 to protect the parklands around Niagara Falls, Niagara Parks operates three championship golf courses, all within minutes of leading hotels, shopping, casinos, wineries, and one of the great natural wonders of the world. With an elite team of PGA professionals and a dedicated staff of golf package specialists, Niagara Parks is the gateway to one of the great golf destinations in Canada.
Located just north of Niagara Falls along the beautiful Niagara River Parkway, the Niagara Parks Whirlpool Golf Course designed by Canadian Golf Hall of Fame architect Stanley Thompson opened in 1951 and remains one of the top rated public courses in Canada. Bordering the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and the ancient Niagara Whirlpool, the 65-year old gem measures just over 7,000 yards from the back tees and a gentle 5,200 yards from the front.
In 2001, Niagara Parks opened the 1,000 acre complex Legends on the Niagara just south of the Falls with 45-holes of golf and one of the best practice facilities in North America. Bordering historic battlegrounds from the War of 1812, Legends features the two championship courses Battlefield and Ussher’s Creek by celebrated Canadian architects Doug Carrick and Tom McBroom who together with Stanley Thompson have designed 40 of the top-100 courses in Canada. Part of an Audubon Sanctuary, both courses have played host to important national championships including the 2004 LPGA Canadian Women’s Open and together with Whirlpool, they offer visiting golfers an exceptional golf experience close to major city centers and international airports in Toronto, ON and Buffalo, NY.
