The Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Quality Tourism Services Association are jointly organising a road show to promote the Quality Tourism Services Scheme. The event officially began this afternoon (16 February), with the opening ceremony performed by HKTB Chairman The Hon James Tien, Acting Commissioner for Tourism Miss Rosanna Law, QTSA Chairman Mr Tommy Li, QTSA Vice Chairman Dr Simon Kwok, HKTB Executive Director Mr Anthony Lau and QTS Scheme ambassador Miss Eliza Sam. The road show will run for nine days until 24 February at the Main Concourse of Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui.
To enhance understanding of the QTS Scheme among consumers, including both locals and visitors, and encourage them to select quality products and services, the road show is showcasing products sold by QTS-accredited shops. There are also special programmes, exhibitions and stage performances to raise awareness of the event and the scheme.
During the road show period, there will be special themed promotions every Saturday and Sunday, as follows:
16 February (Saturday)
Shine & Prestige
Glamorous Jewellery & Watch Show
17 February (Sunday)
Dim Sum Demonstration / Hong Kong Style Dining
23 February (Saturday)
Health Tips for Four Seasons / Chinese Medicine Basics
24 February (Sunday)
Make-Up Demonstration / Stylish lifestyle
Inaugurated in 1999, the QTS Scheme serves to recognise merchants providing quality services and to raise service standards among the trade, thereby giving visitors greater confidence in the products and services of Hong Kong. Currently, over 8,000 merchant outlets, including shops, restaurants, visitor accommodations and hair salons, are accredited under the scheme. Visitors can identify these outlets by the QTS Scheme decal.
