Running from November to January the roadshows are designed to introduce tourism businesses to the Visitor Attractions and Serviced Accommodation quality grading schemes and highlight the benefits and support available. The roadshows include specialist support to help businesses improve their quality standards, while maintaining their competitive advantage and meeting customer expectations.
Advice from an experienced quality advisor and people from businesses already taking part in the schemes will be on hand.Participants can also learn about using local food produce to create a quality food and drink visitor experience and find out about the benefits of the WorldHost customer service programme.Three roadshows have already taken place in Belfast, Fermanagh and Armagh, with further events for both schemes lined up for Derry~Londonderry and the North Coast in January.
Quality and Standards Manager at NITB, Caroline Adams, said: “The NITB is committed to raising standards throughout the Northern Ireland tourism industry and our Quality and Standards team is working in partnership with local providers to implement a series of quality assurance grading schemes.“Consumers very much value the star ratings that are awarded by the schemes and the roadshows highlight that it makes sound business sense for all types of providers to become quality assured.
They are also an excellent opportunity to meet with experts and representatives from other visitor attractions and serviced accommodation providers in the local area and to discover exciting new ways to improve what they have to offer.”The NITB’s quality schemes are in line with other one to five-star schemes used by the AA and the national tourist boards in Scotland, England and Wales.
