normaAccording to the US National Hurricane Center in Miami, late Friday the Tropical Storm Norma reached the hurricane strength which was earlier hit by the Tropical Storm Max.

Norma is expected to hit the southern parts of the Baja California near the popular tourist resort, where it might be weakened again.

Norma was 270 miles  or 435 km south of Caba San lucas, the category 1 storm was  blowing with a wind of 75 mph or 120 kmh.

The NHC further mentioned that Norma is expected to strengthen in the couple of days.

It is observed that Norma was over warm waters and should be in the area of low wind shear by this weekend, it is gradually expected to move towards the North over a couple of days.

The path of Norma also depends on the strength and position of the upper-level ridge of high pressure over Mexico and the upper-level trough located off the West Coast of the U.S.

There are uncertainties in regard to the forecast path and its impact, a hurricane watch is likely to be issues for areas of southern Baja California.
