Considering national security as a priority, Malaysia has decided that all North Koreans have to apply for visa to enter the country. Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the decision will be gazetted soon.
“I hope the decision of the Home Ministry will be implemented by the Immigration Department for the sake of national security,” he told a press conference after the ministry’s Excellent Service Award ceremony in Putrajaya.
Amad Zahid said the decision to impose the visa was made in his capacity as the Home Minister.
Previously, citizens of North Korea and Malaysia only required their passports to enter both the countries.
