Northeast China’s Liaoning Province Shenyang to launch 72-hour visa-free stays

Visa-free-StaysCapital of northeast China’s Liaoning Province Shenyang will launch 72-hour visa-free stays for foreign travellers next year, Xinhua news agency reported.


Beginning from Jan 1, 2014, the facility will be available to travellers from 45 countries who are holding third country visas and have onward tickets to leave for a third country or region within 72 hours.


The visa will also come into effect in the province’s Dalian port city in January next year.


Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Chongqing cites currently offer a similar visa facility to foreigners.


More than 750,000 overseas tourists visited Shenyang last year, up 18 percent year-on-year.

Shenyang’s tourism bureau said tourist numbers are likely to go up after the new visa policy is launched next year.
