Business tourism, particularly conferences and incentives, is slowly coming up as a key priority for the future growth of the Northern Ireland tourism because it offers off season, mid-week business and regional spread.
All over Northern Ireland, there are wide range of exclusive and unusual venues to arrange meetings, conferences, events, gala dinners and incentive groups with Belfast in particular fast turning up as a destination of choice for all conferences and event organizers. The city provides award-winning venues, top business hotels, restaurants and unique visitor experiences for social programs, all within walking distance of the main convention centre, Belfast Waterfront.
Belfast Waterfront is a superlative conference and exhibition venue. Thanks to a £30m investment initiative which means it provides 7,000m2 of flexible event space, along with a 2000-seater auditorium. This has helped NI to compete for larger international conferences. The Royal College of Nursing Annual Congress is one such event held at Belfast Waterfront in May 2018, which saw 5,000 delegates descend on Belfast for the five-day event.
Outside Belfast, the city of Derry~Londonderry lends itself to a ‘conference village’ style approach. With majority of venues situated few minutes apart, it helps organizers to utilize multiple venues in accommodating larger conferences, whilst allowing delegates to combine a little culture with their conference.
