By signing the new lease deal with CIT Aerospace, Norwegian will account for a total of 42 Boeing Dreamliner aircrafts by 2020.
The two new Dreamliners will join the long-haul fleet belonging to the most popular air carrier in Norway. Eight Boeing 737 MAX8 planes are also assessed for purchasing by the same company.
Bjørn Kjos, Norwegian’s CEO commented: “In order to offer customers more routes and make our intercontinental operation even more competitive, we need more brand new, cost-efficient aircraft.
“Our intercontinental operation is crucial to the company’s global growth and the creation of new jobs.
“The Dreamliner is a great airplane with high passenger comfort, long range, low fuel burn and reduced emissions.”
Last year, the International Council on Clean Transportation elected Norwegian as the most fuel-efficient transatlantic airline in the world.
