For those willing to take trip to space, here’s good news! Blue Origin, billionaire Jeff Bezos’ private spaceflight company, released new images of the interiors of its New Shepard passenger capsule. The company says that it will be used to send customers who pay for the same on brief trips to outer space.
The images of the capsule showed sleek black seats tilted back, so that passengers are facing up when the rocket takes off. But the real fun will begin when the spacecraft reaches suborbital space and passengers will be able to get out of their seats and experience weightlessness in the roomy cabin.
The company said that passengers will be able to look out of the spacecraft’s windows, which will be largest ever windows in space. Bezos said the company was heading in the right direction to make its first human test flights by the end of 2017, with the first customer flights taking place in 2018. The company also said that besides its tourism function, the vehicle would serve as a microgravity laboratory as well.
Blue Origin has made multiple successful test launches of its New Shepard vehicle. Space tourism isn’t unique to Blue Origin. Virgin Galactic has already started selling tickets for a trip to space aboard one of the company’s space planes. The private company World View is also offering tourism trips aboard high-altitude balloons.
