These “anti-terrorism” camps have been built up in the occupied West Bank. As per Haaretz report, here visitors get the chance to play the responsibility of Israeli army in different situations that might start from an explosion at any Jerusalem marketplace, to stabbing attack and sniper tournament.
As a result of this, the tourism industry has witnessed a massive boom in recent years. Six different camps have been opened across the country. All of them use live ammunition.
Besides, former high ranking officers in the army train the tourists on combat skills.
Caliber 3 camp shows live demonstration of an attacker being chased by police dogs at just $115 per person. In addition, Sharon Gat, the founder and CEO of the camp says that 15,000 to 25,000 visitors visit Caliber 3 every year. Majority of them come from the United States. Side by side, tourists from Brazil, Argentina, France, Italy, Russia and China, are also expressing interest in the experience.
Gat, who commanded 10,000 troops, said the motivation behind introducing the academy to the tourists was to display the power and capabilities of the Israeli state: “I said to myself that I am going to open this place to the public to show what a long way the Jewish people have come in 75 years.”
