Charles Oak has been appointed to the role of general manager at the Londoner on Leicester Square, due to open in 2020 by the Edwardian Hotels London.
Oak has held several senior management positions in numerous hotels within the group’s portfolio including its five-star flagship The May Fair Hotel. He has served in the hospitality industry for almost three decades.
He had held positions at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, the Savoy Hotel in London, and recently the country haven of Heckfield Place in Hampshire.
He is also known to curate high-quality hospitality experiences, establishing new and exclusive restaurants, bars and private members clubs like the prestigious the Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle.
Oak said that the Londoner is an exciting, ambitious development in the heart of the capital. It is completely unlike any other hotel in the city and in a category of one, it is set to transform the hospitality scene.
He felt privileged to create a world-class landmark for his guests and employees.The tone and character of the super boutique property will be curated by him.
Through the elegantly designed rooms and social spaces the Lononder will be able to deliver the best in intimate luxury.
There will be 350 luxury bedrooms, spanning nine storeys above ground and six level below. It will include a range of suites and three stunning panoramic tower penthouses.
