Destination Canada (DC), Canada’s tourism marketing organization, has renewed its collaboration agreement with Le Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité Canada (RDÉE Canada) and initiated an agreement with the Community Economic Development and Employability Corporation (CEDEC) in a truly national approach to support tourism marketing for the benefit of all official language minority communities across Canada.
“Canada has a great breadth of tourism experiences. Working with both RDÉE Canada and CEDEC means that we can harmonize our approach to supporting official language minority communities across Canada. In this way, we can continue to provide a window for international visitors to experience Canada through the distinct lenses of both of our official languages,” says David F. Goldstein, President and CEO of Destination Canada.
With these agreements, Destination Canada will continue to share knowledge about tourism experiences in official language minority communities throughout Canada and share relevant research and explore areas for further collaboration.
Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development and Employability Network (RDÉE Canada), Jean-Guy Bigeau, declared, “The renewal of this Memorandum of Understanding with Destination Canada honours the values of RDÉE Canada to strengthen the Canadian economy and to promote cultural diversity of tourism experiences in the francophone and Acadian communities. Our collaboration with Destination Canada has always been successful and will continue to be formally so. I’m pleased about it.”
CEDEC is joining forces with Destination Canada to explore areas of collaboration.
“CEDEC is proud to work with Destination Canada to promote the vitality of tourism industry sectors in official language minority communities. Tourism 2025: CEDEC’s Plan for Creating 46,900 Jobs and Adding $5.2 Billion to the Economy, has confirmed the enormous economic potential of a thriving tourism industry. Working together, CEDEC and Destination Canada are going to help our economy grow,” says John Buck, Chief Executive Officer for CEDEC.
Destination Canada’s focus is to promote the Canada brand internationally as a tourism destination. As a content-based marketing organization, DC collects, creates, curates and publishes compelling content from our partners to inspire international travellers to visit Canada.
