Oman launches eVisa service to boost tourism

evisa logoIn order to boost tourism in the country Oman has launched eVisa service and the first phase of rollout includes non sponsored tourist visas for 67 countries. The motive is to increase the demand for experiential travel from key markets like China, Russia and the US.

 

The number of tourist arrivals was three million and it is expected to reach more than 4 million by the year 2020.

 

Salim Adi Al Mamari, director general of tourism promotion at the Ministry of Tourism, Oman, mentioned that the Sultanate’s decision to introduce the eVisa system will lead to continuous growth of Oman’s tourism in the years to come.

 

Apart from the tourist, investors, businessmen, researchers and students will gain easier access to visa processing.

 

The application can be made online through the website evisa.rop.gov.om
