In a bid to enhance tourism services and infrastructure in the country, Oman’s Tourism Ministry is planning to launch a new tourism product. This product, which consists of 17 integrated tourism stations, aims to encourage domestic tourism on the different land road networks in the Sultanate.
The product will be launched this year and will remain under the Ministry of Tourism. They will include service, hospitality and tourism facilities, that will provide world class services to road users, as per the guidelines set by the Ministry.
The integrated tourism stations will be distributed on the different land roads in the Sultanate and will add value by providing quality tourism services to road users.
The Ministry of Tourism has earlier identified the land plots that will be used as integrated tourism stations and divided them into three main groups, after maintaining cooperation with the relevant authorities As specified by the Ministry of Tourism, each integrated tourism station should include petrol filling station, two or three star hotel facilities, air conditioned building for fast food restaurants, retail shops, tourism information centre, rest areas, child play areas, WC’s and separate prayer rooms for men and women.
