One killed and 30 injured in two blasts at Thailand’s Pattani

Blast in PattaniThe Thai town of Pattani got rocked by two consecutive bomb blasts on Tuesday, 23rd August. The tragic incident killed one and wounded 30 people.



According to the Police Lieutenant Colonel Winyu Tiamraj, the first blast, which took place in the parking space behind the Southern Hotel, did not manage to injure anyone. He stated that the second explosion came from a truck that was parked at the hotel entrance, opposite a karaoke bar and a massage parlour. The second blast was strong enough to kill one and injure 30 Thai people.



According to a hospital staff of the town, 32 was injured in the blast and five of them are in critical condition at present.



No one claimed any responsibility for the two blasts in Pattani yet. The authorities were trying to find links between the recent blasts and the previous ones.



Two weeks prior to these two bomb blasts, a series of explosions hit the three most popular resorts in Thailand. The incident killed four and injured dozens of people.



Many embassies warn tourists against any trip to Pattani because of the conflict between Muslim rebels and the Buddhist.
