A small County area in southwestern Nova Scotia, Canada, Digby County is divided into Digby and Clare. From the inception of the twentieth century, tourism played a major role with the setting up of railways and opening the doors to the adjoining towns and large urban centers located in eastern North America.
The famous Digby Pines Resort, situated in the outskirts still considered a key landmark of this County. In bygone days, the resort worked as a focal point in terms of local tourism industry. It succeeded in attracting good number of visitors then.
The County still holds a prominent position in tourism in current context. The place has built many new motels, inns, and bed and breakfast operations, turning the sector a prime employer.
In every first week of August every year, the Digby County organizes annual Scallop Days festival that brings together the tourism and fishing industries under one roof to display the heritage of the town to the world.
