The agreement was signed by Omar bin Ghalib, Deputy Director General of the GCAA, while the advisor of the Minister of Transport and Channels of Communication, of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, signed on behalf of Congo, in the presence of representatives of local airlines and UAE national carriers.
The open skies agreement is in line with the authority’s policy, to enhance bilateral air transport relations, which would contribute to finding more operational opportunities to national airlines and promote and encourage economic cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director of the GCAA said.
Captain Khalid Humaid Al Ali, Director of Air Transport Department in the GCAA, indicated that, the agreement came, after continuous coordination with civil aviation authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo, for more than six years to meet the requirements of the UAE’s national carriers and to reflect the investment opportunities in air transport between the two sides.
