Airport dining experienced a comfortable and appetizing transformation with the grand opening of The Food Hall at Orlando International Airport. Officials from the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, City of Orlando and Villa Restaurant Group participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially welcome the six new eateries to the Airside 2 terminal for gates 100-129.
The new dining concepts include Villa Italian Kitchen, Green Leaf’s & Bananas, The Market by Villa, Jersey Mike’s Subs , Asian Chao Oriental Eatery and Chipotle Mexican Grill.
This new food hall is estimated to bring in more than $150 million in revenue over a 10-year term and has also added nearly 200 permanent jobs to the local economy.
“This really furthers what we have stressed at the airport and that is partnering with the business community and expanding customer service opportunities and job opportunities for our region,” says Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “Because of companies like Villa and their employees, we believe we have the best airport in the world and we know we’re protecting that asset.”
The completely redesigned 11,000+ square-foot space includes an abundance of natural light brought in by the terminal’s existing skylights, delivers a warm vibe and boasts an outdoor Orlando patio feel. The unique and inviting seating area features a blend of large and small tables, power outlets and a lounge area equipped with a large media wall that displays airport and community trivia.
