The fast growing Sanford International Airport in Orlando is about to get its very own four-story hotel with 110 rooms inside the airport property. The Hampton Inn by Hilton will be the first hotel inside the airport premises and the construction of the hotel might start in May 2017, near the Golden Lake Park, placed in the south side of the airport.
John Horan, the Seminole Commission Chairman has informed that the hotel will have a mixture of travellers, including business travellers during the week, and travellers wanting to use the new sports complex.
The sports complex that inaugurated in 2016, could be found almost two miles east from the hotel.
The authorities believe that the construction of the hotel will be completed in a year or so. The Sanford airport is at present the second largest airport in central Florida. In 2016, the airport received over 2.5 million passengers.
The president and chief executive officer of the airport, Diane Crews has informed that the hotel will be used by passengers who may have very early flights, or people who arrived late and are looking for a hotel.
The chairman of the Sanford Airport Authority, Frank Ioppolo Jr. has stated that the hotel is going to make using the airport more convenient.
