Lake Osoyoos in Canada is all braced up to be the limelight for the forthcoming Canada Day celebrations this Saturday evening.
Reputable as the best firework show in Western Canada, and second nationally to the Ottawa display for majestic fireworks, the Osoyoos firework is scheduled for 10 p.m., on Canada Day at Gyro Park. Annette Star, the Fireworks Committee chairperson of the local Cherry Fiesta/ Canada Day 150 celebration said that they had attempted to raise funds amounting to about $15,000 more this year as compared to other times.
She also mentioned that they are close to reaching their target.
In addition, $35,000 to $40,000 more has been raised by this committee that it usually is capable of raising for Canada Day fireworks.
She exclaimed with excitement that this year, Canada is going to witness a much larger celebration with greater gaiety. The show is expected to continue for 30 minutes as is always conducted. However, it would be enriched with a greater amount of energy.
Frank Zandvliet, the man who has had handled the fireworks duties on the beach for over 25 years is credited for this annual event. Rebel Luv of South Okanagan would be adding the soundtrack to the show.
The fireworks would complement the music played and follow the beats.
This thrilling event would be scheduled for 10 p.m. this Saturday evening. The preferred viewing region is on the beach at Gyro Park. But then, the fireworks are clearly visible from around the bowl of the lake.
The committee is also making efforts to get a kick start for raising funds for next year’s fireworks, selling hats and pins. They would be available for purchase during Canada Day at Music in the Park on Friday evening.
