For the first time, Paperbark Camp, a ‘glamping’ resort on the NSW South Coast, will pitch its glamorous camping concept outside of its Jervis Bay home and host a pop-up restaurant at the Fairgrounds Music Festival in Berry on December 2-3, 2016.
Fairgrounds is a South Coast festival celebrating music and discovery, featuring a host of popular and up-and-coming live acts, a vinyl record fair, kids’ activities, old-school field games and an on-site swimming pool. 2016 sees the festival return after a successful inaugural event last year.
Paperbark Camp will host a long table restaurant at the festival, serving up gourmet banquets and catering for carnivores, vegans and everyone in between. Luscious meals such as slow-cooked lamb, paperbark wrapped kingfish, burnt eggplant and chargrilled broccolini will be accompanied by champagne, wine and beer.
A delicious menu has also been designed especially for kids, and each sitting will run for one hour, coinciding with the performances on the nearby mainstage. In addition to the dinners served on the Friday and Saturday evenings, brunch will be served from the take-away ‘Bark Hut’ on Saturday, including brekky burritos, marinated chicken skewers with healthy salads and grilled sweetcorn.
The dinners cost $45 for adults or $20 for the special menu for kids under 12. Paperbark Camp is happy to include dietary requirements if given two days’ notice.Nestled in bushland 2½ hours south of Sydney and offering a blend of sophistication and simplicity, Paperbark Camp is a luxury, eco retreat with elevated safari tents nestled amongst spotted gums and paperbark trees along the banks of Currambene Ck, At the centre of the camp is a restaurant which offers acclaimed dishes sourced from local produce.
