The mother, Kristie Hoyt, of unaccompanied minors returning fro summer camp claimed that she had to contact the airline crew to gather what was happening with the flight. One one contacted her and her child was going through a genetic disorder called neurofibromatosis.
Hoyt wrote on social media that she had a word with the flight attendant # 1 Bailey on flight number 1736 ( the first one rudely yelled at her and then passed off) . She was not informed of the policy for unaccompanied minors that extra fees is required to pay per child and no one was specifically assigned to be with the kids.
The flight was delayed as catering services wasn’t delivered and she went on saying that the waste levels was too high and they don’t do their job well and follow their policies.
The children were not provided with dinner and could not take their medications while taking their meals. Some of the children did not have access to their medication that was stored in a checked bag under the plane.
A children is reported to have said that the group looked after each other after they were brought into a room for unaccompanied minored and to wait during the delay.

According to American Airlines the flight experienced a ‘mechanical delay’ which caused it to remain in Charlotte overnight. The flight is known to have departed for Portland on Saturday morning.
